Restrictions have been imposed in Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, M.R. Gunj and Safa Kadal following Ismail's death on Thursday.
"Restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPc have been imposed to maintain law and order," a Jammu and Kashmir police official said.
On Thursday, the authorities had snapped Internet services in Srinagar after the Lashkar-e-Taiba commander was killed along with his other Pakistani associate, Chota Qasim in Nowgam area here.
All colleges and higher secondary schools have been closed in the city as a precautionary measure.
Train services between Baramulla and Bannihal have also been suspended.
